CAPTAIN AUSTIN DARDEN
Owner/Boat Captain
Austin is a Jupiter, FL native and a USCG–licensed 100-ton captain with years of hands-on experience running dive boats in South Florida. He spent years working aboard Divocean before branching out to captain other vessels, gaining extensive offshore and inlet-running experience—then returned to Divocean to take ownership of the boat alongside co-owner, Sophia. With deep local knowledge of Jupiter’s reefs, changing sea conditions, and the notoriously challenging Jupiter Inlet, Austin brings confidence and skill to every trip. As a commercial lobster diver, he also knows the best spots for spearfishing and lobster hunting, making every charter both safe and rewarding.
SOPHIA GUMBARDO
Owner/Divemaster
Sophia is a co-owner of Divocean Dive Charters who has been in the water her entire life, earning her scuba certification at just 10 years old. She has been a divemaster for over 10 years and spent the last 10 years working on dive boats throughout South Florida. Passionate about underwater photography and spearfishing, Sophia has experienced some of Jupiter’s most incredible encounters, including whale sharks, manta rays, Great White sharks, Leatherback turtles, and other rare marine life. Her experience and genuine love for the ocean helps create unforgettable dive experiences for every guest.
